Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know before we talk

Pick a topic, or read them all. If your question is not here, the free consultation is a tap away.

How do I get started with Joie Jae Events?
Book a free consultation. You choose a video call or a phone call and a time that suits you, and we talk through your date, your vision and your budget. There is no obligation. Book your free consultation here.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. The 1st conversation is always free. It is how we find out whether we are the right fit for each other before anyone commits to anything.
How far ahead should I book a wedding planner?
Most couples come to us 9 to 12 months before the wedding, and our Timeline + Process starts at 12 months out. That said, we can help even if your date is only months away. Book a consultation and we will tell you plainly what is possible in the time you have.
What happens after the consultation?
If you would like to go ahead, we send you a proposal and a service agreement for the package you chose (Core, Complete or Choice). Once it is signed and the 1st payment is in, you get an onboarding call where we set up your personalized planning platform and map out the months ahead.
Where are you based, and where do you work?
We are based in Orlando, FL and plan weddings across Central Florida and the rest of Florida. Planning a wedding somewhere else? Tell us about it on your free consultation and we will talk through what is possible.
Do you plan events other than weddings?
Weddings are our focus. For a photo booth or video guestbook at any kind of celebration, including birthdays and corporate events, see our sister service, the Joie Jae Memory Booth.
What services do you offer?
Concierge wedding planning and day-of coordination, in 3 packages: the Core package, the Complete package and the Choice package. See the full selection of services and what each package includes.
What is the difference between the Core, Complete and Choice packages?
The Core package is day-of help: on-site coordination, set-up of your personal decor, your wedding itinerary, the emergency kit and the personalized planning portal. The Complete package adds pre-planning with a design and mood board, lawn games, up lights and extended assistance. The Choice package is support from start to finish, adding venue tours, vendor negotiations, the convenience cart, the video guestbook and a custom welcome sign. The Compare Plans table lists every item side by side.
What does day-of coordination include?
Our team is on site for your ceremony and reception, with 10 guaranteed hours of coordination. We set up your personal decor, run the itinerary, manage the vendors and handle the surprises, with an emergency kit on hand for the small things that save a day.
Can you help with vendor selection?
Yes. We help you choose and coordinate vendors so the whole day runs as one. Vendor negotiations, where we work the contracts on your behalf, are included in the Choice package.
Can you plan my wedding if I am not in Florida, or my situation is unusual?
Jheanelle is there in person on every standard package (the Core package, the Complete package and the Choice package). Under certain circumstances we can put together a curated package based on the needs of your event. That is decided together on your free consultation, once we understand your date, your location and what you need.
What is the personalized planning portal?
It is your own planning space, included with every package. Your checklist, your timeline, your budget tools and your documents live in one place, and we work through it with you at each check-in.
Do you help with design and decor?
Yes. Jheanelle holds a Master's in Interior Design, and the Complete package and the Choice package include a design and mood board for your wedding. Every package includes set-up of your personal decor on the day.
Can I add a photo booth or video guestbook?
Yes. The video guestbook is included in the Choice package, and the Joie Jae Memory Booth can be added to any wedding. See the Memory Booth site or ask us on your consultation.
How much does wedding planning cost?
The Core package is $1,500, the Complete package is $2,500 and the Choice package is $6,500 when paid in full, or $125, $210 and $545 a month on a 12-month plan. The Packages & Pricing section has the details and the Compare Plans table.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Every package (Core, Complete or Choice) can be paid in full or in monthly payments over 12 months. Monthly plans end after 12 months, so the plan suits weddings about a year out; if your date is closer, we will talk through what works on your consultation.
What is your cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy allows refunds under specific conditions. The exact terms are set out in your service agreement, and we walk you through them before you sign, so there are no surprises.
Are there any extra costs?
Your package price covers everything listed for it. If you would like something beyond that, we quote it in your proposal before you sign, never afterwards.
Will you be there on the day?
Yes. On-site coordination is part of every package (Core, Complete and Choice). Our team is there for the ceremony and the reception, so you and your family can be guests at your own wedding.
What is in the emergency kit?
The small things that save a day: a sewing kit, stain remover, first aid and more. It travels with us to every wedding.
Do you run the rehearsal?
Yes. 1 or 2 days before the wedding we guide you and your wedding party through the ceremony flow, so everyone knows where to be and when.
What are lawn games, up lights and the convenience cart?
Lawn games are outdoor games for your guests during cocktail hour. Up lights wash the reception space in your colors. The convenience cart is a stocked cart of guest comforts for the restrooms or reception. Lawn games and up lights come with the Complete package and the Choice package; the convenience cart comes with the Choice package.
How often will we meet during planning?
After your onboarding call we meet weekly or monthly, depending on your package and how close the wedding is, to review action items and keep every detail on track. 3 weeks before the wedding we make the final decisions together.
Who will I be working with?
Jheanelle Bishop, the founder, leads your planning and is your point person from the 1st call to the last dance, with our team beside her on the day.
I already have some vendors booked. Can you still help?
Of course. We work with the vendors you have chosen and help you fill the gaps. Bring your contracts to the consultation and we will review them with you.
